Well, upon further examination, I realized I will not be able to swap my receivers quite yet. A small piece, known as the hop up unit, comes in two forms: one-piece, and two-piece. You can see the difference by clicking on this link. I forgot that AGM, the manufacturer of my receivers, only comes with one-piece hop up capabilities. My gun, incidentally, has a two-piece hop up. So, while it was a nice thought, I will be unable to continue upgrading my gun until I can get my hands on a new hopup. Stay posted, though. I'll have pictures from an upcoming war soon.

My new receivers came in today; they're rather beautiful. Since the seller didn't include a one piece hop-up, I'll have to buy one on my own and install it. That'll be fun. Pics of the swap (and possibly a video) to follow.

It's been a bit; this has become a less active blog that I hoped at the beginning. But for anyone who still follows my blog, I've just ordered a new receiver set for my gun. Receivers should get here Friday; I'll post pictures and a narrative on Monday or Tuesday next week. In the mean time, I am helping a friend of mine replace his receivers. If you need any airsoft M4 tech work done, just let me know.

My black tip and AFG 2 came in today. The tip came from a superb airsoft dealer: ShortyUSA. I will definitely be buying from them again soon. After almost an hour of fighting with my gun, and numerous scratches on the barrel (but that's okay, it gives it character) I was finally able to get the orange tip off of my gun. The tip... didn't look so good in the end:

But the gun looks beautiful with a black tip and AFG 2. It almost looks real. The AFG was extremely simple to install compared to the tip (thanks, Magpul)

Next stop: A Magpul Dynamics CTR and LiPo buffer tube batttery.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen
After years of searching, waiting, and saving my pennies, it is finally time to begin a voyage I have long dreamed of. That is, completely upgrading and airsoft M4 to its entirety. Posts on here will be somewhat infrequent, as I am not a rich man, nor do I have a jaw-dropping income. However, since I have gotten the initial massive cost out of the way, it's time to start upgrading. For those interested, I have decided to start with a mid-high end M4. I purchased the Echo 1 Troy MRF-X two weeks ago. Out of the box, this thing is awesome. Clocking 430 FPS and yielding pin-point accuracy, I can tell off the bat I won't be needing to upgrade my internals at all. This gun has a downside, and that is is body. Yes, though it boasts full Troy trademarks, the receivers are a disappointing ABS plastic. So that leads me onto my project mapping. I plan on, first and foremost, purchasing metal receivers for this thing. While we wait, feel free to observe pictures of the base gun!
